Our Programs

The academy offers a wide variety of Martial Arts, to a new student this can be very confusing. The first thing to keep in mind is that every program will benefit you as a Martial Artist and every program benefits each other. It really depends on what you are looking for, some are sport based and some are more Self-Defense based.

At the Academy one price gets you everything so your training fee covers all classes seven days a week. The only additional cost may be association fee (once a year) depending on the program you take, training gear,  also there no charge for belt test.

Classes:

The instructor will explain what you will learn and how the class is run when you attend that class, below is just a very basic guide to what they are. All classes are taught by certified instructors!!!!

Styles:

Japanese Jujitsu: our "original" art, the focus of the class is learning the traditional and modern Self-Defense techniques that Jujitsu covers. What does it cover ? almost everything!!.  This class is a combination of all the Martial Arts we teach. This is not a sport based art. Training gear required at some point is a "Judo" uniform. (note: there is a difference between a B.J.J uniform and a Japanese Jujitsu/Judo uniform, see the class instructor for info). This is a low to medium workout class.

Kickboxing: This class is the next in our "original" programs starting way back in 1985, but over the years have incorporated other forms of Kickboxing that the instructors have been certified in. Students learn the "striking" arts including Mauy Thai, amateur and Jun Fan Kickboxing with the focus of learning the techniques, the art and getting a great workout. Training gear required for this class at some point is boxing gloves, groin protector, shin guards, mouth-guard, most can be bought at Wall Mart or see the club for great deals. This is a medium to high workout class.

Filipino Martial Arts: This class covers the use of weapons (see instructor) as well as empty hand techniques. The techniques cover every aspect of Self-Defense. No uniform required, low to medium workout class.

Brazilian JiuJitsu: (B.J.J) A sport based Martial Art with the main focus on grappling or ground fighting, students also enter competitions. This can also be a Self-Defense art, depending on the instructors focus. Medium to high workout class, uniform required (see instructor).

Submission grappling:
same as above but no uniform required.

Women's grappling:  same as both arts above, but just for ladies, a uniform is required at some point.

Jun Fan Gung-Fu/Jeet Kune Do
: Bruce Lee's Martial Art, techniques cover trapping, striking, grappling. no uniform required, low to medium work out class

Judo: a sport based Martial Art but also for Self-Defense, the main focus is throwing but also ground work is taught. A uniform is required, medium to high workout class

Irish/Celtic Stick Fighting
: this class promotes both weapon and empty hand, along with stretching and breathing exercises. Great for people over 40 or any age, no uniform required, low to medium workout class.

Again, speak to the instructor, they will be more then happy to answer your questions.  Most importantly just train and have fun, you can train in any of the above Martial Arts and can spend a lifetime doing so, but you can also learn great techniques in a short amount of time just by trying out a class.
